The Fire Industry Association (FIA)
The FIA is the largest fire protection trade association in the UK with 800+ members.
They are a not-for-profit organisation and a major provider of fire safety training.
Their objective is to promote, improve and perfect fire protection methods, devices, services and apparatus.
They achieve this through the representation of their members, providing technical support, guidance and opportunities for professional advancement through education and appropriate regulation.
The FIA promotes and shapes legislation and the professional standards of the fire industry through close liaison with government and official bodies, as well as other key stakeholders.
They also provide funding for research projects in line with our principal objectives.
The FIA do not allow just anyone to become a member. Only companies that have third party certification such as BAFE SP203, SP101/ST104 or LPS1014 are eligible for membership or manufacturers that are BS EN ISO 9001 certificated.
They are not interested in representing contractors who are not up to the job and who give the industry a bad name. Credibility, a reputation for high quality and second-to-none service are what FIA members are about.
