Summary/background of company

At the John Wilmott School in Sutton Coldfield West Midlands, there was a need to enhance the existing security arrangements, to ensure that people were not allowed to walk in and out of the building without proper authorisation.

Instalment/solutions provided:

Justice Fire & Security have designed and installed a wide range of school security systems for schools and colleges throughout the West Midlands, particularly for those located within a 50-mile radius of Birmingham. Projects undertaken include fire and intruder alarms, CCTV, and integrated access control systems.

Challenges the client faced

The objective was to create a security system that enabled different members of staff to gain access to the building at various times of the day, whilst ensuring that access for example to 6th form students was restricted to certain hours.

Equipment we installed

We designed and installed an integrated access control system, complete with CCTV and intruder alarm.

How Justice approached the challenges

The work was undertaken systematically, area at a time and during the school holidays to minimise disruption. As the systems were modular in design it meant that the school could add new doors as and when things changed over the future years

The final outcome

The system logs every event and records it to a CCTV image for later retrieval, if required. It has meant that the school authorities now have a clear record of who is accessing the building and at what time of day.

Justice was also commissioned a few years later to replace the entire fire alarm system with an up-to-date wire free system with over 240 devices.
