A prolific gang of thieves are at still on the loose after carrying out a string of early morning burglaries at homes in Tamworth and Lichfield, the local press has been reporting.
CCTV Footage Captures Tamworth & Lichfield Thieves in Action
The thieves were picked up on doorbell footage at around 5am on Sunday, August 31st pulling up in a blue BMW outside a house in Mansfield Close, Tamworth, before stealing a grey BMW X3 from a driveway. In the preceding hours, they are understood to have also broken into a number of properties and cars throughout the two Staffordshire towns.
Vehicles and Property Targeted
Operating in convoy, the group of three or four males are believed to have taken a wallet from a red Ford Puma parked on Hillside, Lichfield at around 3.40am on the same day. This followed an attempted burglary from a property close by.
They were also reported trying door handles at other addresses around Tamworth and Lichfield during the same early hour period.
Police Appeal for Information
Staffordshire Police have appealed for witnesses and information leading to arrests – but the gang are still at large. The constabulary say they are reviewing CCTV and doorbell footage of the areas at the times of the incidents and have urged anyone who can help, to get in contact directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers (0800 555 111).
